Who We Are

About The Blue Butterfly Beyond Autism

A butterfly symbolizes transformation and change through its metamorphosis and individual growth. Color blue is a color of hope and rebirth but also rarity and beauty. Blue butterflies may appear delicate and fragile, but they travel great distances. A journey of a neurodiverse person is very complex, unique and filled with resilience, just like a journey of a blue butterfly.

The blue butterfly stands for autism and beyond: neurodiversity, physical limitations, mental health issues; it is embraced not solved, honored for differences not deficiencies.

Why Are We Different

We provide interdisciplinary assessments, consultations, mentorship, guidance, and science-based education to clinicians, teachers, and parents in our outside the box approaches in the areas of autism, ADHD, neurodevelopmental disorder, and beyond.
We look above and beyond into behavioral presentations of underlying health issues, feeding issues, motor impairments, communication and social impairments, and more.
We are
Doctors of Behavioral Health, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and special educators, and have an interdisciplinary team of consultants/subject matter expert: a medical doctor, a pharmacist, a social worker, a massage therapist, and a dentist/COTA!

Adaptive Fitness/
Physical Training

Program designed for children and adults with neurodevelopmental issues, motor impairments, physical limitations, and other challenges. We focus on adaptive training where we target motor difficulties impacting feeding, eating, development of communication and language skills, and which limit social interactions.

Sports: Autism and ADHD

Decreasing maladaptive behaviors in ASD and ADHD (e.g., aggression, impulsivity, noncompliance, emotional dysregulation) through physical activities and sports. Maladaptive behaviors are strongly linked to deficits in self-regulation, sensory integration, executive function, and social cognition. Physical training when adapted appropriately targets these domains simultaneously through structured movement, discipline, and embodied self-control.

Addressing Motor Difficulties

Addressing Motor Difficulties Affecting Feeding, Social, Communication, & Play Skills

When motor foundations do not enable execution. Motor impairments and delays are one of the most prevalent but therapeutically neglected comorbidities in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They can significantly affect the execution and development of social and communication skills, ranging from the use of gestures to coordinated movements of mouth, lips, and tongue in development of speech.

When children are not eating, parents often hear that they “will grow out of it” or “will eat when they are hungry.” Feeding is one of the most important functions of each living organism, after breathing and postural stability. It is a set of complex skills involving appropriate functioning of the internal organs, muscles, that impact postural stability, balance, coordination, etc. These skills are crucial in oral food intake and directly affect lips closure, tongue movement, chewing, biting, swallowing, etc. It is unclear what is a prevalence of motor deficits in children with autism.
